Oyez, oyez! As the sun nears its zenith, the people of the northernmost isles gather to celebrate the endless day. We would be honored to have you join us in the land of fire, ice and geothermal pools for a day of games, competitions and martial activity, all to be rounded off with a grand feast in the evening sunlight.

Site: The site is scout camp with bunk bedrooms for up to 50 persons, a feasting hall and on site showers are available. Site opens at 18:00 on Friday, July 2nd 2010 and closes ca. 16:00 on Sunday, July 4th 2010.

Costs: Site fee for adults is ISK 7.000 / EUR 40
Site fee for children age 5-16 is ISK 2.250 / EUR 12,50
Late fee (after June 20th) is ISK 1.000
Late fee applies

Day tripper fee for adults is ISK 1500
Day tripper fee plus feast for adults is ISK 3000
Day tripper fee for children is ISK 500
Day tripper fee plus feast for children is ISK 1000
Payments are to be made to account number 162-26-8130, kt. 440609-2280, with the SCA names of attendees in the comment box. Overseas visitors can pay on arrival.

Cancellation policy: if cancellation is before the reservations deadline is up, then 90% will be returned. After the deadline there will be no refunds. Fee includes sleeping facilities for two nights with all meals (Traveller's fare on Friday, breakfast, lunch and feast on Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday). The site is wet and naked flames are allowed.

Transport:

  • By Air: Icelandair or Iceland Express to Keflavik. Typically 4 hour flight.

  • From Keflavik to Reykjavik: Bus to BSÍ bus staion, round-trip ISK 3500/20.50 EUR per person, see FlyBus or car (45 minutes).

  • from Reykjavik to site: Bus to Selfoss, bus no.3 from BSÍ bus station to Mjódd then bus no.51 to Selfoss, round-trip ISK 2240 / 13 EUR per person, see Straeto and/or car (75 minutes)

Lifts can be provided to/from Keflavik/Reykjavik/Selfoss to site for a small fee, per each one-way trip, as follows.

  • Kef - site = 2500 ISK / 15 EUR

  • Rvk - site = 1500 ISK / 9 EUR

  • Selfoss - site = 500 ISK / 3 EUR

Please book in advance if you need a lift and/or bedding.

We strongly recommend planning a few extra days for sightseeing guided by Klakavirki members. Unfortunately, this site does not have a hot tub, but if you intend to spend extra time here, we advise you to bring swimwear. Please let the event steward know of your travel plans, and she will try to arrange crash space before/after the event, on a first-come, first-serve basis.
